Hi, my name is Annie Schouest. I am a visual artist who works with ballpoint pens and with tattooing techniques. I started using ballpoint pens in middle school and they quickly became my favorite medium. Now I am drawing a connection between my drawings in pen and tattooing. My body of work focuses on elevating the status of tattoos in the art community. I do this by making designs that can stand alone in a gallery or be used as tattoos. I am working towards being able to design bigger pieces that can take up the space of someone’s back or chest. I am inspired by the art of tattooing because of its permanence and the amount of trust that is required from client to artist. I am based in Ruston, Louisiana.
