Biography
Annie Schouest is a ballpoint pen artist who aims to bridge the gap between fine art and the art of tattooing. Schouest is a tattoo apprentice at University Ink under Joey Bagwell. She is based in Ruston, Louisiana and is working towards earning her BFA from Louisiana Tech University’s School Design.
Schouest’s work focuses on an exploration of the overlooked medium and how it relates to the art of tattooing. She does this by creating her version of popular American traditional imagery like the sacred heart and swallows. Schouest also commonly creates designs of animals, plants, and designs inspired by filigree. The artist creates pieces that can stand in a gallery or be used as a tattoo.
